RescueME Data Lake

The Data Lake is designed as a centralised repository for the storage, management, and exploitation of heterogeneous data generated within the project, including structured, semi-structured, unstructured, and geospatial data. It is implemented within the GAIA (Geodata Analytics and Intelligent Architecture) ecosystem, an innovative microservice-based platform developed by LINKS Foundation. The Data Lake is based on the CKAN platform, which serves as the data catalogue and management component. CKAN provides a user-friendly web interface that allows users to upload, explore, and search datasets. It supports the association of spatial metadata with datasets and enables geospatial data to be visualised directly on interactive maps, facilitating efficient discovery and use of spatial information.
